This 80,000 square foot project was awarded under a Design/Build/Bid competition. The competition was based on schematic plans and specifications. The Joseph Company, as the leading Design-Build contractor, coordinated the project between three different county administrators, the owner’s consulting architect, the owner’s project manager, and Joseph’s contract design professionals (architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical).
After only 320 days of construction, Joseph completed the $4 million dollar structure on time and under budget. Joseph’s design-build team delivered this decorative precast shell with intensive office finishes for the County Health & Human Services Department for only $66 per square foot.
The Minnesota chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors honored The Joseph Company with the prestigious 1997 Award of Merit for Excellence in Construction on the Rice County Government Center project.
